Recently, a lot of people have been telling me that I am brave, and I have a lot of courage and strength. More often than not, I dismiss these comments because, for me, courage is actually doing things like running with the bulls, climbing Mount Everest, or skydiving. However, lately, I have realized that I actually demonstrate courage and strength on a daily basis, as does everyone else.
In fact, we face obstacles and challenges in our everyday lives. Yet, we show courage and strength in such difficult situations, and these acts of valor are worthy of acknowledgment.
Here are the top 4 ways in which you demonstrate courage and strength on a daily basis!
1. You Wake Up and Get Out of Bed Each Morning
The very first brave act you perform each day is getting out of bed in the morning. No, this is not an exaggeration. Living in the 21st century comes with its fair share of burdens, heartaches, and misery. There is a lot you have to deal with daily. Some people even suffer from clinical depression, and the fact that they find the courage and strength to get out of bed each morning is brave in itself.
2. You Chase Your Dreams
Chasing your dream requires strength and tenacity. When you work day in and day out to attain your goals and fulfill your dreams, that actually says a lot about you as an individual. It means that you are passionate and are not afraid to persevere in the face of failure.
3. You Take Time out of Your Busy Schedule for some much-needed Self-Care
This might not particularly sound like a courageous act to you, but trust me, it is! Taking time out of our busy schedules to take care of ourselves is no one’s priority. It takes courage to recognize that you need a break and strength to honor the commitment you make yourself.
4. You Say ‘No’ even when You Want to Say ‘Yes’
Finally, you will be presented with several situations in your daily life when you know that the right thing to do is say NO, but you say YES anyway, mostly to appease somebody. It is never easy saying NO to someone. So, each time you do that, you exhibit courage and strength.
Friedrich Nietzsche once said,
“That which does not kill us makes us stronger.”
Contrary to what you might think, you exhibit signs of courage and strength on a daily basis and keep moving forward despite the hurdles. This shows just how brave you are. So, whatever you do, do not underestimate your true power and abilities. When presented with challenges, you have the potential to rise to the occasion and conquer all problems.
