Have you ever thought of pushing yourself out of your comfort zone? Or willing to take a risk that might or might not be fruitful?
Well, such thoughts dwell in our minds, but taking that leap of faith requires courage and trust in oneself.
As truly said, just like the sailor takes the risk to leave the shore and cross the ocean, similarly, you also need to cut the restricted strings and move out to reach higher destinations.
You must move out and stay at the shore to know what’s in store for you across the shore.
“You never change your life until you step out of your comfort zone; change begins at the end of your comfort zone.”
― Roy T. Bennett
To be able to accomplish new things in life, we must discover new oceans. If we are settled and don’t wish to go out of our comfort zone, we might not succeed.
So be open and try to attempt things you haven’t done in your life.
Who Moved My Cheese?
Everyone might have heard of the fable, “Who moved my cheese?“
The story very well depicts how we must take our life positively and be ready for change. The ones who centred their lives around the cheese, Hem and Haw considered themselves victims and mourned over the finished cheese, while mice, Scurry and Sniff accepted and moved on.
The fable can be easily compared with a human life situation when a person’s loss, job loss or a broken relationship makes you feel like the end of the world.
So one must see “the change as the beginning of something new and not the ending of everything.”
4 Courageous Ways to Leave the Shore
Without courage and faith in your actions, you cannot move forward and head on to new opportunities.
1. Take a Risk and Jump on to a New Adventure
Life is given by God only once. And in this lifetime, it will be wasted if you do not take risks. Imagine living a life with no change; it becomes monotonous and, after a point, terrible.
There is a new opportunity at every door, but those with the guts and courage take it, succeed in life.
Imagine Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters would not have fought after being jailed. Would we be able to sit here enjoying independence? So, their risk was fruitful.
A person who would like to change things and want their life they thought would craft new opportunities for themselves.
Those who wish to have a risk-free life and not leave the shore would be wracked at some point in time.
2. Facing the Fears
Fear is the most daunting setback for human life. The fear of water, fire, death or the unknown can be anything.
But question yourself whether your fear can be overcome or not?
As stated by Forbes, fear limits oneself and one should know how to step up passing the fear.
In Bhagavad Gita preaching, one of the most important lessons is the fear of death. Arjuna had to choose and decide to put his fear aside and jump on the battlefield. The rest is history.
Once you are prepared to face fear and discover new oceans, you will not mind jumping into the daunting waters of the unknown. This will help you to dig deep into yourself and know your capabilities.
3. Be Imaginative and Creative
Yes, knowledge is important, but imagination is more important than knowledge.
Suppose you are not imaginative; you will not have a dream to achieve it. Discover the island of your goals and be creative enough to achieve them.
Creativity is the mother of all inventions, so you must be willing to do whatever it takes.
For instance, you might imagine your boss praising you or providing you with the withheld promotion, and you are visualising the same.
Isn’t it exciting and want in your life?
So once the seed of imagination comes into your mind, you will work harder, throw yourself into whatever possible you can do and be all out to make that imagination into reality.
4. Positively, Move Out of Your Comfort Zone
Positivity is what thrives in our lives. It boosts determination and provides the required courage to leave the comfort zone.
For all the changes that occur in your life, if you would take them positively, even if they are out of your comfort zone, they will turn out to be fruitful and exciting.
If there is a setback in your life, would you like to keep mourning or thriving on searching for better opportunities even if it is out of the comfort zone?
Well, if you do so, you will improve your life.
Life is to Discover New Oceans
Life is all about the known and the unknown. We are happy till we see what is going on in our lives, but the minute we are up against the unknown, we come crashing down.
This is because we don’t want to leave the shore. But at any point in life, we must battle our anxieties, family, friends, and stress about work life, accept the failure and move on.
You have to make tough decisions and release all the pain to be able to discover new oceans.
Keep things away that weigh you down, and be courageous enough to lead your life however you want.
“You have to be uncomfortable to be successful, in some ways. If you stay in your comfort zone, you will never do the things that you need to do.”
