Do Your Bit to Make Society a Better Place
We should be thankful to the Almighty for having blessed us with the life of a human being, the supreme being in the entire universe. We should understand its significance and make the most of it by doing good deeds and noble actions. A life dedicated to the service to humanity is the most sublime way of making life worth living.
A life lived only for the fulfillment of personal gains is worthless. As human beings, we are bestowed with the power of reflection and contemplation by the God. When even plants and animals serve the society in many ways, why can’t we as human beings do anything to make the world a better place to live?
“Human Life has meaning only to that degree and as long as it is lived in the service of humanity.”
― Wole Soyinka
Never-Ending Rat Race after Materialistic Pleasures of Life
There is no use living a life which is wasted in just fulfilling personal interests. It is a pity that we have become victims of selfishness in the modern world where everyone seems to be involved in the pursuit of materialistic pleasures. It is a mistake on the part of all of us that we have forgotten such values as brotherhood, unity and selflessness.
We have become money-minded which seems to have become the ‘be-all and end-all’ of mankind. The realisation of truth does come but by the time one realises their mistake, it is too late and we become too old to do anything to the service of humanity.
“Materialistic life is the graveyard of humanity.”
― Deepa Sharma
Help Ever, Hurt Never – The Thumb Rule to Serve Humanity
Our life turns useless from the very moment we stop thinking about the well being of others. Nowadays, humanity seems to have reached its lowest point when it comes to morality and ethical values.
You pick up a newspaper, the news of murders, kidnapping, theft and deception are everywhere. We turn on a TV set to have more of such pathetic incidents as killing by terrorists, people dying due to road rage, the innocents being killed everywhere for no reasons.
It is high time we must do something to save humanity from going to the dogs. We should stop being confined to our personal problems and look beyond that at issues of larger interest.
Do right ‘Karma’ for yourself and for others. If you do something good for someone, it comes back to you in one form or other. People remember you for your deeds and for what you did for society. Serve humanity to liberate yourself from the complex web of life.
“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.”
― Dalai Lama XIV
Serve Humanity, Serve God
If you think only a rich person can help others or people occupying important positions can help others, you are mistaken. All you need to possess is a graceful heart, good intentions and pure soul to make the mother earth a better place to live.
When you devote yourself wholeheartedly to the service to humanity, you realize that you have taken birth on this earth for some purpose. It goes without saying that service to humanity is the service to God.
“The sole meaning of life is to serve humanity.”
― Leo Tolstoy
