While growing up, many of us have once heard that hard work always pays off. Few might have wondered if it really paid off.
As humans, we tend to look at the negative side of things earlier and give less credit to our victories and achievements. No journey is smooth, and life is bound to have challenges.
It wouldn’t be called life if it had been without any ups and downs. Fearing what obstacles would come next would only deviate you from your goals. Ensure you work more hard, and one day will definitely lead you to success.
Importance of Obstacles in Life
Challenges are such that they can’t be avoided but are part and parcel of our lives. In fact, rather than getting scared, be head-on and embrace the obstacles in your life.
So why are obstacles important in our lives? At first, they would scare you and come off as bad. But upon later thinking, you might feel them to be a better thing. They help you grow into your individual and lead to your full potential.
-
- Obstacles do help us to grow and be better person.
- Obstacles ensure you adapt to any given situation and boost your self-worth.
- Obstacles give us a better understanding of life and allow us to view things from various angles.
- Obstacles help us to learn from our own mistakes.
Why Overcoming Obstacles is Important?
Imagine you are on set for a major interview, getting stuck in traffic, and won’t be reached on time. Well, it is a small but big obstacle for you because it’s your dream company.
The instant reaction would be panic and the shattering of dreams. But at the same time, if you gather yourself up and try to handle the situation calmly and wisely, you can easily overcome the obstacle.
You can reach out to the office and inform them about your delay. So, it does mentally play with you, but with the same mind, you can conquer those obstacles and lead on.
How to Overcome Obstacles and Lead the Way to Success?
Here will narrate two inspirational stories of why overcoming obstacles is important in our lives.
First of all, let us talk about Helen Keller. Everybody might have heard about her. Helen was born just like a normal child until 18 months of her age she started losing her senses. Soon she lost her vision and became deaf as well. But she didn’t give up.
She was sure not to come to this major obstacle ruin her life. She was adamant, and still with no sight and hearing abilities, she cleared her graduation and earned a degree. In fact, she went on to become a famous motivational speaker and author as well.
Helen Keller said very well,
“You will succeed if you persevere, and you will find joy in overcoming obstacles.”
Another such example is of Walt Disney. He is also a favorite of kids and adults; he is well known for creating the cartoon Mickey Mouse for the world. But his road to success wasn’t easy.
He must had set back and thought why overcoming obstacles is important. He didn’t complete formal education and was an eighth grader only. He had to face so many adversities and had to start Work at the age of 9.
With multiple business failures and no formal training in arts, he still managed to be the leader in the industry and founded Walt Disney studios.
He succeeded because of his untiring hard Work and not seeing all his failures as a disgrace. In fact, that helped him and made him a big visionary.
Walt Disney said,
“All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all the troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me. You may not realize when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.”
Does Hard Work Always Pay Off?
When you hit a failure, the first thing that comes to mind is whether you worked hard enough. Or you might have made inevitable mistakes. That may be the case or not.
Sometimes even if you work hard, you might not achieve what you want. But that does not mean you stop trying for it. In fact, you must work more hard.
The best example is a CA student who gives exams, yet, with certain marks, they fail. But still, they try again and work harder, and with luck on their side, overcoming the obstacles, they do become CA. But it does come with multiple failures at times.
So thinking ‘does hard work always pays off’ is actually dependent on your viewpoint. Do not think you are less talented or start comparing yourself with others.
How can you improve and come out of this situation? It’s the mindset that needs to be changed.
Yes, it might lead you to the goal you wanted. But during that journey, you definitely learned something. You will have the inner satisfaction that you tried harder and gave your 100%.
“Perseverance and hard work will overcome obstacles in the path to achieve your goals.”
