Intention Is Not Good If Backed Up With No Kindness In It
“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the greatest intention.” ― Kahlil Gibran

We are all familiar with the concept of thought preceding action preceding character. If not, here is the deal: It is said that the kind of thoughts we create in our mind determine how we act in our lives, this in turn shapes our character.

So technically, your thoughts build your character. I am sure you haven’t been that careful with your thoughts till now. But maybe it is time to shift our gears and start thinking some free-flowing and well-meaning positive thoughts!

We are habituated to thinking about doing good for others or for ourselves but seldom do we gather ourselves up to make a difference in our lives.

It is a easier task to think and contemplate on things to do than it is to finally stand up and take action on the same. But that doesn’t mean we should give up and sit idle.

There are a number of ways in which we can become more active with our to-do-lists and end up scratching out the things we have achieved.

Here are a few ways in which we can guarantee that we act upon our dreams and make them come true:

1. Immediate Action

The moment you are convinced about doing or being something, note it down on your tiny note book or journal. Next thing to do is, start working towards its completion so that you can tick it off your list.

Results make us extremely happy and when we start acting continuously on our goals and receiving results, it becomes a pattern.

2. Discuss with Friends and Concerned People

Find people who have done the thing before you and follow their work to find out how they did, what they did, repeat their act and you will get there easily.

3. Be Friends with the Doers and let go of the Naysayers

If you observe intently, you will find that you have a lot of people in your circle who only talk the big-talk but refrain from acting the same way. They are the lazy lot, staying with whom reduces your energy too. Find people who are extremely active and sure about their actions.

4. Say Yes more often

A new fad asks you to make time for yourself and saying no to things more often. Things that don’t serve you should surely be said no to, but if something interests you say yes to it and try it out.

The more you explore this world, the more options are open for you. When a lot of people see you saying yes to things so often, you receive more opportunities in life because they will know X is always ready for new things.

5. Exercise, Meditate and Practice Concentration

These practices make sure that your mind and body are in alignment. Due to this, you will be able to find quick solutions to your problems and act on it faster. It creates better concentration and bodily fitness which makes acting easier.

6. Stick Post-Its on Your Room Walls

This is a creative way to have your tasks listed out in front of your eyes every day. It reminds you of things undone and also boosts your confidence when you see some of them ticked off the frame. This is an exercise that promises to increase your productivity and keep you moving.

Conclusion

Be a doer! Setting intentions is no good if you do not back it up with action. Make sure you are taking adequate action to support your dreams. Even if it is chores, they should be well-done.

So lights-camera and action. Do not sit idle and watch your dreams fade away.
