“Na hum Amitabh, Na Dilip Kumar, Na Kisi Hero ke bache… Hum hai seedhe saadhe Akshay.”
Why are we mentioning these lyrics? Being a 90’s fan, we remember how this song was choreographed and it defines Akshay Kumar perfectly. Akshay Kumar is not a rich actor’s child nor did he have any support from the industry. He was a simple man from Chandni Chowk, who went to Bangkok and did a waiter’s job. Yes! It may be hard to believe but success was not an easy piece of cake for this handsome and funny man.
Akshay Kumar was born as Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia in Amritsar. He grew up in Delhi’s famous Chandni Chowk. He had a deep interest for learning martial arts and so, he went to Bangkok to learn the art. He used to pay for his lessons by doing a waiter job at a hotel. Later, he started teaching martial arts. All the stunts that you see in movies are mostly performed by him and his shoots do not require a professional stunt artist.
When he was teaching martial arts, one of his students recommended Akshay to start modelling. Yes, Akshay Kumar landed his first modelling assignment and there was no stopping after that. Did you know that Akshay was also a background dancer in some movies? He also worked as an assistant for a photographer which did not pay him any salary. He wanted to build his portfolio and so, he agreed to work without a payment. Akshay has worked as a peon in Kolkatta and he also did a salesman job in Dhaka. He has experienced it all which is why he is a very humble man.
He started to knock doors and sent his portfolio to big production houses. His first movie was Deedar but it was Khilaadi which raised the brows of several women and action enthusiasts. Even today, after he has crossed 50 years of age, people idolize him for being fit and fabulous. He is one of the fittest actors in Bollywood industry. The youth idolizes him and fortunately, we do know people, who have got inspired by the actor and lost a lot of weight.
He married the beautiful Twinkle Khanna and his marriage is going strong for many years. He makes sure that he spends time with his family and he gives a lot of time to keep his body fit as well. He has not lost his charm! We remember him being famous for his chest hair and today, he is well-groomed and sexy at the age of 50.
The actor has been taking up the greatest movie projects which have a meaningful message. Movies like Holiday, Rustom, Jolly LLB 2 and Toilet – Ek Prem Katha have proved that this actor can play any role with ease. Imagine a humble boy from Chaandi Chowk, who struggled and did all kinds of jobs landed in Bollywood. He is one of the finest actors that we know of!
Isn’t this an inspiring story? We may have our future Akshay Kumar in the streets of Chandni Chowk. There are many people, who struggle a lot and they need an inspiration to come forward and realize their dreams. Well, if you share this post then it will surely reach them and they may get inspired!
