The Motivational Story of Neeta Lulla – Journey from a Tomboy to a Renowned Fashion Designer

Nothing in this world is achieved with sheer luck. A person works extremely hard to reach new heights. Today, we are covering the story of an inspiring woman, who never thought that she would be a top designer of clothes for the Bollywood industry. Yes, you guessed it right! We are talking about the humble, talented and gorgeous Neeta Lulla. We find ourselves lucky to be surrounded by such powerful and ambitious women, who chase their dreams and make it happen.

She is one of the most popular Fashion designers in India, who has bagged four national awards for her work. She was never good in her studies and it worried her mother. She was a tomboy in school and her father motivated her interest in sports. As a young girl, Neeta was just interested in her jeans and T-shirt phase. However, she started reading magazines and gradually, she started to like the fashion industry.

Young Neeta got married at the age of 16. It was pre-decided that she would complete her studies after getting married. Well, she was interested in the fashion industry and decided to do a diploma course in Pattern Making and Garment Manufacturing. She recalls that she had fantastic mentors, who guided her and made her realize her dream.

She started working during her college days as an assistant in fashion shows. Her college had also approached her to join as a lecturer. Her first breakthrough in Bollywood was for the movie Chaandni starring Sridevi. We remember how stunning Sridevi looked in her beautiful sarees! Well, it was Neeta Lulla’s magic. She dolled up Sridevi, Aishwarya Rai and Juhi Chawla for the hit movies and her work got recognized.

Neeta Lulla has designed clothes for some extremely good movies such as Pride and Prejudice, Hum Hai Raahi Pyaar Ke, Hum Aapke Hai Koun, Mistress of Spices, Taal, Devdas, Mohenjodaro, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Jodha Akbar and more. It is a great success! Usually when women are married off at an early age, they are not given a chance to chase their dreams. In a country like India, it is rare to see women getting a very supportive family. She started with one sewing machine at her home. Also, she had just one kaarigar and today, she owns one of the most popular fashion houses in India.

In today’s world, every fashion designing aspirant looks up to Neeta Lulla. Every girl wants to become HER! Also, she joined hands with Subhash Ghai and started an institute in Mumbai called Whistling Woods. The list of her achievements is endless. She has inspired all the women out there, to get up and make sense of their life. You never know where your hard work shall take you! The success was not easy for her. She has climbed the ladder and today, she has many A-list clients.
