It is said that the truth ultimately comes out. The lies are not permanent and get exposed with time. The famous quote by Abraham Lincoln says:
“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.”
The meaning of this saying is that you can tell a lie to some people and make them believe it all the time. You can tell a lie once in a while to all the people and have them believe it.
But this does not work all the time. Eventually, some people will realize that what has been told to them is a huge lie and the truth ultimately will come out.
Fooling some people is an easy task, however, misleading all the people all the times cannot be done.
This means that lying and cheating is not the way one should lead their lives. Lying and cheating are the two paths that can only lead a person into trouble.
For example, if you tell a lie to some people and they believe you, you will have to tell the same lie to all the people to make it believable.
However, there may be a time when you might have to make up another lie to keep up. This can work for some people. In the end, you will get up in your web of lies.
How Can Living A Truthful Life Make Your Life Better
Most of us have also gotten away with these small lies every once in a while. But if we think about it, we lied to the people around us. However, we in our hearts knew that what we did was wrong. We felt the guilt of it for a long time.
Similarly, if you constantly keep lying to people, it will ruin your peace of mind. Additionally, you will always be stressed about covering up your lies. You will not be able to open up to people and talk openly about your life.
However, if your life has no lies and no secrets, living becomes easy. You can stay happy and peaceful knowing that you do not have to pretend to be someone else in front of the world.
How To Be A Truthful Person
Being truthful person and living a life full of truths is a great thing to do but is hard to achieve.
These are some steps you can follow a life that is free of lies:
1. Accept Your Mistakes as they are – Know that everyone makes mistakes and they are a part of everyone’s lives. So, if you make a mistake, accepting and owning up to it rather than denying is the first step.
2. Try to Face Your Problems – Once you have made and accepted a mistake, make sure that you rectify it. A mistake, no matter how big or small can be corrected if you put enough effort into it.
3. Stay True to Your Values – Always stay true to your values. Listen to your gut feeling before doing something. If your gut thinks you are right, then go ahead with it. If not, then stop immediately.
To end this, I would like to say that a lie does not have a long life. Even if you tell a lie to some people, truth ultimately comes out.
