“Dignity of human nature requires that we must face the storms of life.”
― Mahatma Gandhi
Glistening Sun and the sensation of its rays warming us to our pores are always welcomed. Isn’t warmth supposed to nurture?
But, the comfort that this warmth provides makes us forget that there is always a storm around the corner. And, when this storm finally arrives, we run for shelter. We hide from these storms of life.
The Equilibrium of Life
“There are some things you learn best in calm, and some in storm.”
― Willa Cather
Every thing in the universe is in continuous chase of equilibrium. So is life. There’s no high without a low and no light without dark.
We need to experience despair to experience true bliss. We need to feel anger to feel calm.
Similarly, to truly experience the warmth of the Sun, we must take the thrashings of the storms of life.
Learn to Appreciate the Storm
It takes tremendous strength to endure the thrashings of the storms of life with a smile. It takes patience to keep waiting for some light when darkness seems endless.
And, more than anything else, it takes courage to keep believing that everything will be alright. It’s not in a faint heart’s power to flap its wings in the storms of life.
We can’t Change Our Fate but We can always Change the Way We React to it
“No storm can last forever. It will never rain 365 days consecutively. Keep in mind that trouble comes to pass, not to stay. Don’t worry! No storm, not even the one in your life, can last forever.”
― Iyanla Vanzant
The warmth of Sun is under no obligation to stay and storms of life have nothing to obstruct their path. But at the end of the day if we still have the courage to hope for better and will to work for that, life isn’t bad.
Storms of life can hold no power over us if we don’t let them. All we have to do, is keep believing that everything will be alright. After all, nothing is permanent, not even a storm.
Storms of Life Decide who We Are
“There is always a storm. There’s always rain. Some experience it. Some live through it. And others are made from it.”
― Shannon L. Alder
The time spent in comfort zone doesn’t decide the course of our lives. It is about the choice we make when the storms of life hit us.
Our reaction to the storm, whether we hide in our house or step out to embrace the ferocious wind and beating rain, that’s what decides who we are.
Catalyst of Life
There are certain things in life that I strongly believe –
-
- There’s a God watching all over us.
- If I do good, I’ll receive good.
- If I do bad, it’ll find a way back to me.
- Everything will work itself out in the end.
People ask me how do I know these things. Honestly, I don’t. But, I know that we need a catalyst to keep going. And, these are the beliefs that keep me moving when the storm doesn’t seem to cease.
These beliefs give me the strength to dance my troubles away in the storms of life.
Conclusion
“A positive attitude can turn a storm into a sprinkle.”
― Robert M. Hensel
There’s nothing we can do to make our life perfect. It’s not in our hand to control the storms of life.
So, when the storm arrives, isn’t it better to break into a dance and drench ourselves to our heart, than to hide in a dark, gloomy shelter?
