“We could never learn to be brave and patient if there were only joy in the world” is a quote by Helen Keller which states the importance of hardships in our life. This quote is one of my favourites. It indicates the importance of struggle in shaping a person’s mind and soul.
Patience is one of the hardest virtues to possess. It is the quality of waiting for something that you desire which has no signs of coming to you. Bravery, on the other hand, is not something you are born with, it is acquired over time as you gain life experiences. Without struggles and hardships, we may never learn to be brave and patience.
Every person can reflect on the aspects of his or her life which have been tough, or even monumentally impossible. Tackling these problems helps you develop your character and personality. They assist us in building new strengths.
Why are bravery and patience necessary in life?
It is a well-known saying that fortune favours the brave one and everything comes to him who is who waits. An individual who is brave enough to do what he desires is the one who can accomplish anything he wants. We all have heard stories about bravery since we were children. When we were kids, stories of courage came from our favourite superheroes saving the world. As we start getting older, we hear of brave individuals with mesmerizing accomplishments, who fight for freedom, bring about social changes, and save lives. These brave people have one thing in common they have the courage to face their destiny with unending patience. The key ingredient to happiness is to be brave and stand up for your convictions. There is nothing that can bring you more satisfaction in life than being true to your conscious.
Patients require a lot of courage. It can be very scary to wait for things to occur without a glimpse of the future. Believing in something when everyone has lost hope takes a certain degree of courage. Expectation without any solid proof is terrifying and not something an ordinary person can do.
Joy cannot teach you to be brave and patient
If you are constantly in a state of happiness, you would never be able to develop patience and be brave. Struggle and hard times help you turn your fear into an asset rather than a hindrance. You learn how to stand for yourself and others. The first step in conquering fear is to face fear. Fear is something that will often hold you back from happiness and helps you understand what faith is. Faith requires patients. Keeping the faith is one of the most stressful jobs in the world. It is hard to trust the universe and make an unpredictable move towards victory when nothing seems to be right. Resilience makes all of the difference, and it is not everyone’s cup of tea. An ordinary person who has never faced life changing circumstances can never be brave and keep the faith.
An individual who is always blissful may not be equipped in handling stressful situations and hardships. Strength does not come from always winning and surrendering, but from constant struggle. A man who regularly faces challenging situations in his life is defiance in the face of adversity.
Only a man who struggles has the courage to put everything he has on the table and face his fate. To be brave one has to face his fears and validate his feelings. A joyful person may lack the self-awareness which is achieved through struggles and hardships in life. Joy cannot teach you to focus and control your emotions nor improves your precision and bravery.
