Convince Yourself That Your Time Starts Now!

What happens when we think of doing something? We think, we plan, but when it comes to executing it, we procrastinate. We postpone doing thing for several reasons. Often we wait for the right circumstances or the right time. The right circumstances or the right time never comes as these do not exist. The best and the only solution is to begin doing NOW! Being earnest has often been the key to success for many. No one can teach this better than Walt Disney who failed in almost everything he did before finally hitting upon success, so grand that it is very few peers. His achievements came through his earnest relentless efforts and his sheer diligence. He never wasted his time to let his enthusiasm depreciate.

Quit Talking and Walk the Talk

People often speak about what they wish to do or what they can do. Many do it just to satisfy their egos, but some who really mean or intend to do so also do it. When you talk about what you are going to do, you actually deny your mind the pleasure of accomplishing it. The feeling of earnest intent that drives you gets dampened. If you have to talk about it, talk to yourself. Make a firm resolve to do what you promise to yourself. Keep in mind the fact that braggers do not deliver and it is those who are earnest in their approach and work silently reach their goals.

Take the Plunge

Any idea however big, still remains a concept unless it is brought from drawing board to reality. Never be afraid to take the plunge. Work out our ideas diligently while being earnest at it. You never know how many iterations and modifications you may need to work through before you can breathe life to what you set out to do. One never learns swimming, however hard he must have studied it, unless he jumps into the water. Knowledge has no use until it is put to practice. Time is also one of the most valuable resources that we fail to recognize. Putting off an action amounts to wasting one valuable resource. Tomorrow the situation may be different and harsher than what it is today.

Let Your Success do the Talking

Successful people do not talk of their successes before they achieve it, and then they share the secrets. When you succeed in your endeavor your success will talk about you. It is only those who do not have the will power to succeed, talk about themselves. When you stop talking you conserve your inner zeal, you become earnest about achieving something  and when you begin doing it finds expression in your action.

Becoming Busy Doing it Prevents Digressions

Talking is a disruption and diversion, while doing it makes us more focused on the endeavor at hand. There is no time for self-doubts to creep in, no chance to develop self-pity and experience discouragement. When you start doing, you will see many possibilities that have opened up which were not there earlier or even if there you were not able yo see them. That is the magic of doing, it opens up new doors while closing those that are unnecessary or lead to blind alleys!

Important Things To Do

Here is a list of things that you can start doing right away:

  • Avoid procrastination, low self-esteem and anxiety.

  • Set your goals and time-frame, prioritize if required.

  • Reward yourself as you achieve each goal, however small.

  • Review your progress periodically.

When you begin doing in right earnest and get going in right direction, reaching the destination is just a matter of time.
