Inner Beauty and Outer Beauty are Complimentary
I know very well that I am not at all an attractive person when it comes to physical beauty. Most of my friends are quite good looking and during my school and college days, I often heard them boast of their good looks. Some of them even made fun of me for being short in stature and thin in the body.
Time passed and today after so many years, I am proud to say that I am better placed than almost all of those friends of mine. They must have realized their mistake by now.
You will also agree that judging a person’s character on the basis of his appearance is not at all right. Right goes the saying that appearances are often deceptive. A person must be evaluated on the basis of what he speaks and what he does. Someone who devotes all his time and energy in the service of humanity is gifted with a beautiful heart and it goes without saying that a beautiful heart houses beautiful soul and virtuous spirit.
The inner beauty expresses itself through one’s humble behaviour, modest actions and noble thoughts. A man possessing sublime thoughts, virtuous character and elevated ideas deserves to be called beautiful from both within and without.
“Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.”
Is the Beauty of the Body Complete in Itself?
A tricky and debatable question is- “Who deserves to be called beautiful?” Thinkers and scholars since times immemorial have tried their level best to answer this question but even today this question is one of the most discussed and debated one. A slim and good looking model participating in a beauty contest is called beautiful by people only because she flaunts her body and shows her mental alertness. Does she really deserve to be called beautiful?
Without any second thought, we can affirm that beauty of the body is incomplete without the beauty of the mind and heart.
“Beauty is being comfortable and confident in your own skin.”
Are Catchy Words Enough to Make a Person Beautiful?
Let us take up an example of another influential person who occupies a respectful place in society due to his rank and status. When he addresses a gathering of thousands of people on the occasion of an important ceremony, people praise him for his impressive speech and art of speaking. He receives a standing ovation because he has kept everyone spellbound by his captivating words. Long after he has gone, his effect is alive in the mind and heart of people. Can he be called beautiful?
The answer is simple and clear. You can be a great speaker but if you are not kind-hearted, you don’t deserve to be called beautiful from within and without.
“Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical.”
― Sophia Loren
Do Beautiful Heart and Pure Soul Make One Look Beautiful?
Let us take another example of an ordinary woman who remains busy in household task all the day long in her day-to-day life. She looks after her children, takes care of their needs and does everything to keep her family happy. When a beggar knocks at her door and asks for food, even he does not go emptyhanded. Does this lady deserve to be called beautiful?
Yes, without thinking twice, we can say with confidence that a simple lady doing her day-to-day task with devotion has every right to be called beautiful, whereas all others who get the appreciation of people either for being physically attractive or for being great speakers stand nowhere when compared with this honest, sincere and hardworking lady. She is the one who is blessed with a beautiful soul and a benign spirit.
“When virtue and modesty enlighten her charms, the luster of a beautiful woman is brighter than the stars of heaven and the influence of her power it is in vain to resist.”
Beauty is the Coming Together of Pure Soul and Positive Spirit
A person with a beautiful heart is always happy and carefree because he knows how to tackle the problems of life. Not only does he overcome the obstacles of life but also inspires others to be positive in life. It is true that we all come across such people now and then who are lively, vivacious and helpful by nature. Their very presence around us becomes a source of positivity and happiness to us. It is their beauty of mind and heart that wins over the attention of people.
On the other hand, pessimistic people always look irritable and sad. They are always sad because they do not know how to be happy. It directly leads to the conclusion that a happy-go-lucky and carefree person is blessed with a beautiful heart and such a man is always ready to help others. He is the one who has the beauty of body, soul and spirit.
“Beauty is not how good you look. It is how genuine you are at heart.”
