What is Success to You?

Success means different things to different people. For me, success means bringing joy in my family life in multiple ways and also doing what I truly love! I would be elated if I get a job which makes my heart sing.

I have always wanted to pursue a career which brings respect and appreciation. Money follows but it is not how I measure success. This is how I feel!

For someone else, success could mean having a blissful married life. Measuring success is important!

For a businessman, it could mean that he/she reaches a point where his competitors fear him!

So, we can say that success has different meanings for different people. It could be in the form of wealth and it could be in the form of leading a happy life.

What Did You Give Up to be Successful? Answer Yourself!

The question is – What did you give up to be successful?

Dalai Lama led a peaceful life and his teachings affected many people.

Dalai Lama teaches us about living in the moment, being gentle with Planet Earth and creating a loving atmosphere in the home. He mentioned these beautiful words about how you must judge your success by what you give up in order to get it.

I am not trying to put you under the spotlight! My aim is to make you understand that success is not true happiness if you had to give up your family or something that you love.

Can you truly be successful by leaving your family behind?

God did not create human beings to be greedy, selfish and self-centred. Since we live in a competitive world, we have become ruthless and we do not think about what we are leaving behind to be successful!

I find that people leave their kids and wife behind to move to a new country for better opportunities. Imagine the plight of your wife and how she supported you all throughout!

Can you ever be successful without your family?

What is the definition of success?

Did you have to give up your self-respect to get a salary hike?

Did you commit a crime to be rich overnight?

I find that people try to take shortcuts by winning the lottery or kidnapping a child. They want to make instant money! Even if you get the money – Can you call it success? The definition of success is broad and it differs from person to person.

What was Your Journey Like?

If you gave up your sleep and comfortable life, you can look back and feel proud. Never ever do such actions which you would regret later.

We find that people try to take shortcuts, cheat on people and even leave their loved ones behind.

Can you truly be successful by making others unhappy and pulling them down?

No! Judge your success on the moral grounds and see what you gave up!

I ask you again – What did you give up to be successful?

You must give up the following to be Successful –

    • Excuses
    • Sleep
    • Unhealthy Lifestyle
    • Shortcuts
    • Cheating or Playing Small
    • Stereotyping Everything
    • Magic
    • Self-centred Attitude or the Idea that you are Perfect
    • Multi-tasking

Never give up on people who have supported you. They are your rock! Never give up on the idea that you can do it! There will be hurdles but you will get there if you are patient!

Just never give up being a good person!

Do you know what success means to me? It is being a good person at all times and instances! If you are a rich person but have mean intentions in your heart, you are not successful!

Be kind, work hard and never cheat or pull others down.

Yes, it is a competitive world but you should not be one of those robots made by the society!
